Government of PakistanPM Imran Khan set to address Kashmir Solidarity Rally in Muzaffarabad today

MUZAFFARABAD: In a bid to express solidarity with besieged people of the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), Prime Minister Imran Khan will address a big public gathering in Muzaffarabad on Friday.

The prime minister will send a message to the world about the continuing siege of Occupied Kashmir by the Indian forces.

The gathering will also show Pakistan’s resolve to stand with Kashmiris in this hour of trial.

Meanwhile, all is set to accord rousing reception to Prime Minister Imran Khan on his day-long visit to Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) today to address a mass public rally in Muzaffarabad.

Posters and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of besieged Kashmiri people have been placed on walls and roads around the City.

The solidarity rally is the part of diplomatic campaign to stir world conscience over the plight of Kashmiris suffering the history’s worst kind of state-terrorism and violence at the hands of Indian forces.

Renowned cricketers and showbiz personalities including Shahid Afridi, Javed Sheikh, Shaan, Humayun Saeed, Faakhir Mehmood, Shehzad Roy, Sahir Ali Bagga, Maya Ali and Hareem Farooq have also announced to join the prime minister at Muzaffarabad Jalsa to raise voice for Kashmiris.

Earlier on Friday at his weekly media briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would give a policy statement about the situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir during his address in Muzaffarabad.

Dr Faisal said that the policy statement is part of Pakistan’s continued struggle for the Kashmir cause.

The Spokesperson said that the struggle for Kashmir is a continued process, not an event. He said that our stance is loud and clear that the all issues with India including the Kashmir dispute can be resolved through dialogue.

In the IOK, normal life continues to remain paralyzed as the unprecedented lockdown imposed by the Indian authorities has entered its 40th day today with schools, markets and other business establishments closed and public transport off the roads.
