ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday inaugurated the Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2021 under the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Project and the first-ever Miyawaki Forest in Islamabad.
The prime minister inaugurated the Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2021 by planting a sapling at Lotus Park in Shakarparian.
The Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the Adviser on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam, and Senator Faisal Javed Khan were also accompanying the prime minister.

Speaking at the Inaugural Ceremony of the Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2021, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the government is making efforts to mitigate the effects of pollution through an aggressive plantation campaign.
The prime minister said that unfortunately, Pakistan is among the 10 Countries which have been affected by the Climate Change.
Imran Khan said that plantation is essential for the next generations and the role of youth is also very important for achieving the goal of 10 billion trees plantation campaign in the Country.
After the successful inauguration of Miyawaki Forest, it would be replicated at 20 other sites in Islamabad.
Earlier on February 12, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the Miyawaki Urban Forest at Jilani Park in Lahore.
The prime minister was briefed about the progress made so far to achieve the target of 51 Urban Forest Sites in Lahore to check air pollution and protect the environment.
Meanwhile, the prime minister will also chair the meeting of the Federal Cabinet in Islamabad today, which will discuss the overall political and economic situation of the Country besides agenda items.
