KARACHI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan reached Karachi on Wednesday, wherein he assured the business community of government’s full support.
Talking to a delegation comprising representatives of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and Automotive Parts Association in Karachi on Wednesday, the prime minister said that the basic aim of his visit to Karachi is to address the problems faced by the business community.

Imran Khan said that our top priority is to alleviate poverty and promote economic activity. For this, he said that we need the cooperation of businessmen.
The prime minister said that the business community should work as a partner with the government.
The delegation presented before the prime minister various proposals pertaining to reforms in tax system, enhancement in revenue, checking inflation and smuggling, ease of doing business, promotion of investment and generation of job opportunities.
The Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, the Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, the Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda, the Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar, the Adviser on Commerce Razak Dawood and Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, the Adviser on Institutional Reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi, the Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Syed Zubair Haider Gilani and the Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Reza Baqir were also present on the occasion.
