ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to constitute a Judicial Commission to probe into the killing of journalist Arshad Sharif.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Minister for Information Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the Commission will be headed by a Judge of the High Court.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the Judicial Commission will be empowered to include Members from Civil Society and Media to determine facts.

The information minister said that the prime minister has taken the decision to ascertain the reality of late Arshad Sharif’s death.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) has also written a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office to constitute a Judicial Commission to probe into heinous murder of Arshad Sharif.

The GHQ also urged the Prime Minister’s Office to take stern measures against those trying to create suspicion regarding his assassination.
