LAHORE, Pakistan: The Minister for Interior, Planning and Development & Reforms Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday said 200 million people of Pakistan had enough political awareness, and they were the real protectors of democracy in the Country.

Talking to media representatives in Lahore, Ahsan Iqbal said invisible powers had always tried to stop the development of democracy in the Country. He said the Country had suffered conspiracies multiple times in the past.

“2018 is the election year,” the federal minister said adding they wanted to empower the voters of Pakistan.

Ahsan Iqbal said they had changed the direction of the Country in last five years, adding they had broken the backbone of militants.

“We have eliminated the terrorism in the Country and restored peace,” the minister said.

The minister further remarked that the Ministry of Interior should have brought reforms in its system.
