ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has emphasized on the significance of youth in the development of Pakistan, saying that the progress of our Country depends on the development of the youth.

Talking to a delegation of members of the National Youth Council in Islamabad, he said that the government is ensuring the supremacy of merit in the Country.

The prime minister said that Pakistan is fortunate as the major portion of its population comprises youth. He said that talented youth is one of our most valued assets.

Imran Khan said that the youth must struggle to achieve success as hard work is the path that leads to glory.

Emphasizing the skill development, the prime minister said that Pakistan needs to increase the exports of value-added goods.

The prime minister said when the government came to power, Pakistan’s exports stood at only US$ 20 billion. However, the government focused on increasing exports that resulted in an increase by 35 percent in exports.

The Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar briefed the meeting on the National Youth Council and steps taken for Youth under the Kamyab Jawan Program.

A comprehensive National Youth Development Framework comprising six thematic areas has been made that is in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to empower youth to play the role of a major contributory in national development.

It was briefed that under the Kamyab Jawan Program, Rs 100 billion will be distributed among youth by 2023 for their economic empowerment and youth entrepreneurship. Under the program, scholarships will be provided to 200,000 youth.

It was told that Kamyab Jawan Center, Talent Hunt, Sports Academies, Green Youth Movement, and Innovation League are also part of the project.
