ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman has said that the future of Pakistan is very bright, adding that the promotion of education is the top priority of the present government.

While addressing the students of Sindh Madressatul Islam University at the auditorium of Pakistan Manpower Institute in Islamabad on Friday, the minister said that the government has increased funding for education sector.

Baligh said that students will have to adopt the habit of book-reading as the habit of reading is helpful for life-long learning. He said that the life-long learning is very vital for us and the students should know the difference between right and wrong.

The minister said that it is blessing that our population comprises large number of young people and our youth has great talent and potential.

“Our youth has great abilities and they will have to use their abilities towards right direction,” he said.

Baligh-ur-Rehman urged the students to adopt constant approach and do hard work. He said that universities will have focus upon the character building of the students along with the imparting education to them.

The federal minister also said that number of out of school children has phenomenally dropped in the Country.

The Vice Chancellor Sindh Madressatul Islam University Dr. Muhammad Ali Shaikh and the Director General Pakistan Manpower Institute Khalida Gulnar were also present on the occasion.

Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
