ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Pakistan will not leave Kashmiris alone and it will use all the available options against illegal move by the Indian government to abrogate the Special Status to the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
In her statement on twitter on Monday, Dr Firdous said that abrogation of Article 370 by the Indian government is a severe violation of the UN Security Council resolutions.
The special assistant condemned the Indian move and said that it has not changed the ground realities.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Indian government’s act has infused a new spirit into the freedom struggle in Occupied Kashmir and highlighted the Kashmir dispute in the world.

The Indian government today through a Presidential Order revoked Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution which had guaranteed Special Status and Special Rights to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the new arrangements, the Indian Occupied Jammer and Kashmir has been bifurcated in two parts – Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Both the regions have been declared as Union Territories under the Indian Federation.
Jammu and Kashmir will have its own legislature; however, Ladakh will be without a legislature.

In its response, Pakistan strongly rejected the announcements by the Indian government regarding the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and said that it will exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps.
The Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said that no unilateral step by the Indian government can change this disputed status as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council resolutions, nor will this ever be acceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan.
