ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain has called for further deepening Pakistan-Yemen bilateral relations, and said that Pakistan will continue to support Yemen for peace and progress in the region.

In a meeting with Yemeni delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen Abdulmalik Abduljalil Al-Mekhlafi, the president said that brotherly relations between the two Countries are based on mutual cooperation, friendship and trust.

The president said that Muslim countries should work in unison for attaining progress and stability by avoiding mutual differences.

Mamnoon Hussain said that war has badly affected Yemen and expressed optimism that peace will soon be resorted in the Country. He said that Pakistan wants to contribute in the progress and stability of Yemen and desires that peace be restored soon in the Country.

President Mamnoon said that Pakistan supports the efforts of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadhi for peace in the Country and regards him as the legitimate leader adding that Pakistan will continue to support him.

The president expressed gratitude for the cooperation that had been extended by Yemen in evacuation of thousands of Pakistani nationals from the Country. He hoped that the Yemeni government will continue to play its role in ensuring safe return of Pakistanis to the Country.

President Mamnoon said that Pakistan has declared assistance for repatriation of Yemeni people affected by war adding that the aid will be provided as per aspiration of Yemeni government. He said that people of Yemen possess great abilities and they will have to work together for progress of their country by keeping aside their differences.

The Yemeni foreign minister said that Yemen accords great importance to his relations with Pakistan adding that his government will welcome Pakistanis returning to Yemen.

The Ambassador of Yemen to Pakistan Mohammed Motahar Alashab and Acting Foreign Secretary Muhammad Waheed ul Hasan were also present on the occasion.
