In this regard, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gazprom («Газпром» Алексей Миллер) Alexei Miller held a meeting in St. Petersburg on February 22, 2018 with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, according to Russian media.

Prior to that, Russia and Pakistan on October 13, 2017 signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the supply of LNG. On the basis of this agreement, Gazprom Marketing and Trading is negotiating a long-term contract with Pakistan LNG Limited to supply LNG on a non-competitive basis.

“The possibility of LNG supplies from the Gazprom Group’s portfolio to Pakistan, cooperation in the field of exploration and production of hydrocarbons on the territory of the republic was considered. A special attention was paid to the project of the construction of the Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, “Gazprom said.

It is worth recalling that Pakistan LNG Limited buys LNG on spot tenders (four tankers per month). In 2018, the winners of tenders for the supply of LNG to Pakistan LNG are traders such as Gunvor, Vitol, Trafigura, BB Energy and Gas Natura
