Government of PakistanPakistan thanks China for supporting its stance on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that China is an emerging world power, and we thank our all-weather friend for backing Pakistan’s stance in support of the oppressed people in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

In a series of tweets on Saturday, Dr Firdous said that China has again supported Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir issue and proved that it always stands with truth and uprightness.

The special assistant said that the friendly and close relations between Pakistan and China demanded that Pakistan should take its friend into confidence over the nefarious act of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Firdous Ashiq Awan further said that Pakistan as a responsible state awaits resolution of Kashmir dispute under UN resolutions and international laws.

It is worth mentioning that the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi visited Beijing to hold consultation with the Chinese leadership over recent Indian move to revoke Special Status of Occupied Kashmir.

Talking to Qureshi, the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured full support to Pakistan on Kashmir issue, and expressed serious concerns on the latest escalation of tensions in the IOK.

Wang Yi said that Kashmir is a dispute left from the colonial history and it should be properly and peacefully resolved based on the UN Charter, relevant UN Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreement.

The Chinese foreign minister said that his Country will continue to support Pakistan in safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests and uphold justice for Pakistan on the international arena.
