ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Railways has increased its capacity of revenue generation, and generated additional Rs one billion in first 50 days of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

As per a press release issued on Wednesday, the Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed is working hard to increase Pakistan Railways revenue.

It said that due to uphill effort of Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, railways has generated additional Rs one billion first 50 days of the present government.

It said that from August 2017 to October 2017, Pakistan Railways had earned Rs 5.7 billion whereas during August 2018 to October 2018, it earned 6.7 billion.

It is a proof that Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad is taking the institution on right track. In these 50 days the capability of railways to earn revenue has increased a lot.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad assumed the Office of the Ministry for Railways on August 20, 2018 after he won the election held on July 25 in NA-62 Rawalpindi-VI Constituency.

Sheikh Rasheed replaced Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Khawaja Saad Rafique as the railways minister. He also held the same portfolio from 2006 to 2007 when Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-N) was in the rule.

It is worth noting here that Pakistan Railways is facing about Rs 40 billion deficit.
