ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced that Pakistan will observe a day of mourning and the flag will fly at half-mast as a mark of respect for President of Iran Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and his companions and in solidarity with the Iranian people.
In a post on his X handle, Shahbaz Sharif expressed deep shock and grief over the tragic news of the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a helicopter crash.
The prime minister said that both the Iranian president and the foreign minister were good friends of Pakistan.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the great Iranian nation will overcome this tragedy with customary courage.

The Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and East Azarbaijan Province’s Governor Malek Rahmati died after a helicopter carrying him and his entourage crashed in the Country’s East Azerbaijan province.
The Iranian official news agency IRNA stated that the helicopter made a tough landing during a visit to the Country’s northwest.
Ebrahim Raisi along with his entourage was en route to Tabriz City after inaugurating a dam at the border with the Azerbaijan Republic on Sunday.
