ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that we are accountable to the people of Pakistan and they will decide as to who delivered and who did not.

“Today’s Pakistan is stronger and more stable,” the prime minister said during the meeting of the Parliamentary Party of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) held in Islamabad on Friday.

The prime minister said that our government inherited huge problems in 2013 but we worked very hard and now you can see development projects being completed on a fast pace with utmost transparency and efficiency.

Nawaz Sharif said that previously development projects were delayed and cost over-run was common but now we are achieving savings on projects.

The prime minister said that people are witnessing as to who is working hard and who didn’t work at all. He said that we are not only working on energy projects but our aim is also to provide affordable energy for consumers.

Furthermore, he said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects being completed on fast pace. He said that 3,600 megawatts electricity is being added in next few months.

“We are working on providing a secure base for sustainable energy sources for Pakistan,” the prime minister said.

Meanwhile, the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will present the Federal Budget for the Fiscal Year 2017-18 in the National Assembly later in the day.

Sharif said that his government will present an unprecedented Rs1 trillion development budget for the next year as it sincerely believes in serving the masses selflessly.

“We are working on governance reforms which is a long process with opposition from various segments,” he said adding that we are determined to bring in positive reforms.

“We are even working hard to complete those projects that were abandoned,” he said. “It’s because we want development of Pakistan and our people.”

The prime minister said that the whole Country is being connected through network of roads and motorways. He said that this connectivity will bring huge dividends for business, industry, exports.

In addition, he said that security situation throughout the Country has improved in our tenure.

Nawaz Sharif said that we focused on development of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan and Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) at par with other provinces.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
