Government of PakistanPakistan has been victim to elitist ruling class in the past: PM...

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that unfortunately in the past, Pakistan has been a victim to an elitist ruling class, which did not aspire to provide the Country’s people with opportunities to grow and prosper.

“I will prove Inshah Allah that the people of Pakistan will provide us with their trust, and shall increase the tax base, and I will myself ensure that funds collected will be spent on the development and prosperity of my Country,” Imran Khan said on Friday in his address at the launch of the “National Poverty Graduation Initiative” being launched in over 100 districts across Pakistan.

The prime minister said that the people of Pakistan are compassionate and contribute tremendously to social welfare projects. “I myself have seen the citizens of my Country contribute towards the construction of hospitals and colleges with open hearts,” he said.

Imran Khan said that I look towards China as how it elevated 700 million of its citizens from poverty. He said that we need to emulate the Chinese model in alleviating poverty from Pakistan.

“I learnt in life, that all the welfare projects underway in the West, were in fact, built on the model of an Islamic Welfare State established by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the State of Madina,” Imran Khan said.

“The Prophet (PBUH) created a sense of compassion, humanity and justice, which we call “Ehsaas” in the State of Medina for all citizens residing in an Islamic State,” he said. “The Prophet (PBUH) taught us how meritocracy, fair play, justice and equity would pave the wave for establishing a civilization built on compassion.”

The prime minister announced that any whistleblower who assists in pointing the government towards unnamed properties will receive up to 10 percent of the value of its sale. He said that all funds from the sale of properties will go towards funding the Ehsaas program.
