ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday said the war against terrorism, in fact, was a war of their existence as a sovereign nation.
Earlier in the day, the 22-year-old Commanding Officer of a Check Post in Rajgal area of Khyber agency Lieutenant Arslan Alam was martyred when terrorists from across the border attacked the Post.
In a statement, the prime minister expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Lieutenant Arslan Alam in Rajgal.
“Our valiant forces have inflicted huge damage upon terrorist elements but at the same time have rendered huge sacrifices in doing so. Each drop of blood of our heroes is a testament to the fact that we all are united as a nation to cleanse our beloved motherland from terrorist elements,” the prime minister remarked.
The prime minister said these cowardly attacks on their law enforcement agencies (LEAs) could never flinch their resolve to back-off or even slowdown in their resolve to continue with anti-terror operations.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi prayed for peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family of the martyred Lt. Arslan Alam.
