ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Security Adviser Lt General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua on Friday said for the regional peace and stability, it was imperative for both Pakistan and India to engage with each and resolve their disputes.
The adviser made these remarks when in a meeting, held in Islamabad on Friday morning, the Special Representative of Federal Republic of Germany for Afghanistan and Pakistan Markus Potzel sought his opinion on the matters pertaining to regional security situation with particular reference to Pak-India.
The German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler was also present in the meeting.
The adviser said by resolving their disputes, both Pakistan and India needed to belong to the future.
Nasser Janjua explained how the region’s security construct was fast becoming under stress. He while two front situation was being created for Pakistan, India was self-seeking a two front situation which did not auger well for the region.
The national security adviser said all the major powers needed to play their role by keeping the region stable and balanced.
