LAHORE, Pakistan: Overbilling of 830 million electricity units has been detected in Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESC) only, the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said.

While addressing a News Conference in Lahore on Monday, the minister said that these units were overbilled to government offices, industry and common man.

The interior minister said that the government is taking concrete steps to curb power theft and overbilling in power distribution companies.

Mohsin Naqvi also said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has assured full support to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in campaign against overbilling. He said that the campaign of FIA against overbilling will not stop until the issue is fully resolved.

The minister said that FIA along with the Power Ministry is going to launch a campaign against power theft in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
