Government of PakistanNovember 2 will see end of Imran Khan's politics: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday said that politics of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan would no longer exist after November 2, the day the opposition party planned to siege Islamabad to make the federal government dysfunctional.

Talking to newsmen after distributing laptops among students of Government College University (GCU) in Lahore, the minister said that there was no justification for PTI protest over Panama papers as the Supreme Court had already taken up the matter.

The minister said that PTI should have come to the Parliament to record any protest on any matter if it believed in democracy.

Ahsan Iqbal said that PTI’s plan to lock down Islamabad would only damage its democratic credentials.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif respects constitution, law and the institutions,” the minister added.

Earlier addressing the laptop distribution ceremony among students of GCU, the federal minister said that this was the era of IT and we would have to encourage our youth to excel in this sector.

The minister said that the government was distributing laptops among the brilliant and deserving students purely on merit.

Iqbal further said that war against terrorism was in final phases. “Pakistan requires hope and unity among people, internal tension can make Pakistan weak.”

The minister said that change could only be possible with ballot not with bullet.
