ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday said no one could be allowed to defame anyone without any concrete proof.

In her address at a Ceremony after launching of new website of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in Islamabad, the minister said the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal made his allegation against the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on false reports.

The minister said NAB didn’t follow the due process of complaint verification, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would use all legal and constitutional means to counter those attempts.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said all state institutions should have worked within their ambit to take the Country forward. She said the campaign of maligning politicians would serve no purpose to anyone.

The information minister said principles and values of politics also needed to be redefined for the progress of the Country.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said for the first time a decade of democratic continuity would be completed which was a good omen for the Country. She said whether it was China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) or international investment, those were the benefits of democracy which had been understood by all segments of the society.

The minister said the government bravely faced the challenges it inherited and improved power supply position by adding more than 12,000 MW of electricity into the national grid. She said it was the determination and resolves of their government that challenge of terrorism was taken head on and eradicated.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
