ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has appreciated the efficient performance of the Islamabad Police for resolving a blind murder case and announced reward for the four police officials.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, Special Investigative Unit of Islamabad Police headed by SP captain (r) Ilyas resolved a blind murder case busting a gang of six persons. The gangsters used to rob innocent people drawing money from local banks in twin cities.

Four Islamabad Police’s special investigative unit officials – SP captain (r) Ilyas, Inspector Aslam, Inspector Raja Rahat, ASI Rana Tasleem and Head Constable Zahoor, were part of the team investigating the blind murder case.

The arrested gang was involved in attempted robbery and murder of an innocent victim a resident of Bara Kahu. The victim was murdered on April 23 this year, during the attempted robbery by the gangsters.

According to details shared by the Islamabad Police with the interior minister it was revealed that a six-member gang applied discreet methods for their potential preys (individuals) drawing money from various banks of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The gang members often visited various bank branches and used to mark those individuals who drew large cash.

In such a similar crime drill a young member of gang Shehzad had reached UBL bank branch on the morning of April 23, 2016.

The gangster Shehzad identified three individuals who drew Rs2.6 million from the branch.

The accused after identifying the prey conveyed to his accomplices, who were using two motor bikes and mehran car for chasing the potential prey.

Soon after the cash was taken from the bank by the three brothers (identity with held as they being victims), the gang started chasing them on two motor bikes and a car in a manner that no one pin-point their chase.

When the victims reached Bara Kahu market the gangsters pooled together and acted as one force intercepting the three real brothers (victims) who were moving on a Suzuki pick-up van.

During the attempted robbery, a gangster used fire-arm shooting at one of the innocent victims who died on spot while the rest suffered injuries.

An FIR was registered in this regard in Bara Kahu police station, which initiated the investigations.

However, once the case was handed over to SP Ilyas modern scientific methods were used for tracing down the culprits on speedy basis.

After strong investigation clues and gaining concrete evidence a raid was conducted by the Islamabad police’s special investigative unit from where four accomplices were arrested, while two are still at large.
