ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar on Monday said that decisions regarding the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award would be taken with consensus.

Talking to media representatives after chairing a meeting in connection with preparation of 9th NFC Award in Islamabad, the minister said that today’s meeting was very fruitful and encouraging.

Ishaq Dar said that in today’s meeting second report on NFC was reviewed and participants held frank discussion on matter relating to the 9th Award.

The minister said that December 10 had been fixed for preparation of final report on the Award and the next meeting would be held in the third week of next month.

The finance minister said that according to the Constitution, no reduction could be made in the share of any province.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the provinces expressed the resolve to finalize the 9th NFC Award at the earliest. They said that the new award would be based on consensus.
