ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday said the federal government would soon open new Stations of the FM Channel to ensure broadcasting of the Channel at every nook and cranny of the Country.

While speaking at the 20th anniversary of Sout-ul-Quran FM Channel of Radio Pakistan at Pakistan Broadcasting House in Islamabad, the minister said Holy Quran acted like a road map for human lives, and in depth learning and understanding of the Holy Quran could help achieving new heights especially in realm of science and technology.

The minister said the Holy Quran’s teachings invited the human being to explore the Universe; however, they being Muslims had not benefited fully from thought provoking verses of the holy book.

“Being Muslims, it is our religious obligation to have in-depth research of the holy book so that we should fully explore the potential of this universe,” he said.

Ahsan Iqbal said the Sout-ul-Quran Channel was serving people belonging to all segments of the society by providing equal opportunity to listen Quran with translations 19 hours in a day from 19 stations in the Country.

Earlier, the Leader of the House in Senate Raja Zafar-ul-Haq in his address said while considering the importance of Quran Channel on radio Pakistan, he helped establishment of the Channel in 1998 which was initially started for five years on three stations.

Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said that was a Holy Channel which was serving the humanity and its coverage was needed to be extended to all areas of the Country.

Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said Radio Pakistan was the mother of all institutions related to broadcasting sectors as it helped providing training to the professionals who were now running various Television Channels.
