ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Parliamentary Secretary for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha on Monday said the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Children and Son-in-Law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar were ready to come to Pakistan, and would appear before the accountability court in the next hearing.

His statement came after an accountability court in Islamabad inducted Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar over their continuous absence from the Court, and ordered to ensure their appearance in the next hearing – October 9.

While talking to media outside the accountability court, Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said the court was informed that Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar could not appear before the court due to illness of Kulsoom Nawaz.

Mohsin Ranjha said the accountability court did not indict the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and it would take up the matter again on next hearing. He said the application of Nawaz Sharif for exemption was not taken up in the court and the matter may be decided in the next hearing.

The Parliamentary Secretary further said it was victory of democracy, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and court that politicians were facing the court for the supremacy of law.

Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said that past of PML-N was spotless and it was facing the courts. He said PML-N was facing the cases in the courts and did not ran away like the dictator.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation.
