ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday expressed the hope to further enhance trade, investment and development relationship with Japan.

In a meeting with a Japanese delegation led by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Nobuo Kishi in Islamabad, the prime minister said that Pakistan is keen to carry forward the shared vision for promoting peace, prosperity and development of our people.

The prime minister recalled very warm and cordial exchange with his Japanese Counterpart Shinzo Abe in New York in September 2016 and reaffirmed the common commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Nawaz Sharif emphasized that Japan has been an important development partner of Pakistan and a number of important development projects in Pakistan have been completed with Japan’s assistance and support.

Furthermore, the prime minister said that Pakistan now offers great investment opportunities in various sectors that can be utilized by Japanese investors.

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan thanked the prime minister for the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation, and expressed the hope to further strengthen Japan-Pakistan bilateral relations.
