Government of PakistanNawaz directs army, LEAs to eliminate terrorists with full force

SEHWAN, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday directed and authorized the armed forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to eliminate the terrorists where ever they are with the full force of the state.

While speaking at a level meeting in Sehwan where he received the briefing about Sehwan Sharif blast from the Sindh Chief Secretary today, the prime minister said that “in the pursuit of peace and prosperity, every State in history has faced opposition from those who have wished to revert them to primitive and barbaric roots”.

The prime minister said that Pakistan has been fighting a war on its identity since its inception. He said that for the past many years, we have been fighting the enemies from within, and those abroad.

“We have faced dark days in our history. However, we have always come through with a resilience that has been an inspiration for the world,” the prime minister said.

Sharif said that it is time for us to unite and fight against the radicals, wherever they may be, inside or coming from outside.

“I direct and authorize my armed forces and LEAs to eliminate the enemy where ever they are with the full force of the state,” the prime minister said.

The prime minister said that it is an obligation on us towards future generations and others facing oppression.

“We must hold firm but reject fear and renounce this depravity wherever we see it with a moral rebuke we reserve only for the most heinous.”

Nawaz Sharif said that his administration will do its part in ensuring defeat to those who question our humanity, and the rights and liberties of our fellow countrymen.

“This war will end, and it will conclude with the victory of our people including our positive values that bind us,” he added.

Earlier, the prime minister visited a hospital in Nawabshah and inquired after the health of those injured in Sehwan Sharif blast.

The prime minister was accompanied by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Adviser Nasir Janjua, Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
