ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Climate Change Senator Mushahidullah Khan has said that the federal government would help in establishing climate change consortium including universities and research institutions.

“Ministry of Climate Change will provide every support to make Global Change Impact Study Centre an internationally recognized research institution,” the minister said while presiding over a meeting on working of Global Change Impact Study Centre was held at Ministry of Climate Change in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the delegation headed by the Chief Executive of Global Change Impact Study Centre Tariq Banuri briefed the minister about working and future plans for Global Change Impact Study Centre.

The minister emphasized to enhance capacity building of experts working in field of climate change.

Mushahidullah Khan also appreciated the idea of initiating masters program on Climate Change in universities of Pakistan.

Earlier, experts from Global Change Impact study Centre informed the minister that rain and weather patterns are changing and farmers must adjust according to new patterns.

They also informed about the research being conducted in Global Change Impact Study Centre.
