ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Caretaker Information Minister Barrister Ali Zafar on Tuesday said Muslims and Minorities enjoyed equal rights and liberty in Pakistan.

While addressing a Seminar in Islamabad, Barrister Ali Zafar said vast majority of Pakistani people believed in peaceful co-existence.

The minister said no religion preached intolerance and extremism. He said every religion emphasized on the promotion of love, peace and harmony, adding no religion permitted anyone to force his/her will on others.

Furthermore, Barrister Ali Zafar said Europe left Pakistan isolated after the Afghan war. He said as the Afghan war ended, terrorism began spreading across Pakistan.

The information minister said it was inevitable to eradicate the extremist mindset to wipe out terrorism from Pakistan.

Barrister Ali Zafar further said recent requirements in laws pertaining to human rights needed to be considered.
