ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The meetings under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Establishment Mohammad Shehzad Arbab have started in order to review the performance of ministries.

During these meetings which will continue for two weeks, the performance of ministries during the Second Quarter of Financial Year (FY) 2021-22 will be reviewed.

The Review Committee includes the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Jehanzeb Khan and senior officials of the Establishment Division, Cabinet Division, Finance Division, and Planning Division.

On the occasion, Shehzad Arbab said that performance agreements as a governance tool, are making a transformational shift to an outcome-based, time-bound delivery mechanism.

Through these agreements, all the ministries are working in unison to achieve the diverse targets necessary for the development of the Country.

Out of the total 1,090 initiatives to be achieved by the ministries during two Financial Years, 426 initiatives will be completed in FY 2021-22 and 488 initiatives will be completed in FY 2022-23 while 176 are running initiatives.

Shehzad Arbab also said that special attention has been paid to inter-ministerial dependencies and to remove any hurdles in this regard. He further said that based on their performance, ministries will be ranked and the review reports of the ministries will be presented to the Prime Minister.

The ministries whose performance was reviewed today included SAFRON, Board of Investment, Industries & Production, Planning & Development, Foreign Affairs, and Commerce Division.
