ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Major (retd) Azam Suleman Khan has been appointed as the Federal Secretary for Interior while Yousaf Naseem Khokhar has been appointed as the Federal Commerce Secretary.

Earlier on Thursday, the federal government removed the BS-22 Officer Major (retd) Azam Suleman from the post of the Punjab Chief Secretary and directed him to report to the Establishment Division with immediate effect.

His removal followed a one-one-one meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar in Islamabad.

Later, another BS-22 Officer Jawwad Rafique Malik was posted as the Punjab Chief Secretary.

As per media reports, Azam Suleman Khan had handed over some important evidences against Jahangir Tareen and others to the investigation team probing the Sugar and Wheat Crisis without the approval of the Punjab government.
