ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary has said that the local assembling of Electric Buses will start in Pakistan next year.

While addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, the minister said that the domestic manufacturing of Electric Buses will start in the Country in three years time.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the government is focusing on the Electric Vehicles and it will bring revolution in the Transport Sector.

The minister said that endeavors are underway to ensure that Islamabad become the first City that has an Electric Public Transport. The federal minister further said that they will import 20 Electric Cars in 2020. He added they are introducing Electric Bikes for women   In addition, he said that the latest technology is being promoted to facilitate farmers. He said that the high technology farms will be developed in order to promote the production of unconventional crops. Fawad Chaudhary said that the Federal Cabinet has approved industrial and medical use of hemp. For the cultivation of hemp, he said that sites have been identified in Peshawar, Jhelum and Chakwal.
