Government of PakistanKhaqan, Imran seek UN role to stop massacre in Indian Occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Joining their voices against massacre carried out by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir, the government and the opposition strongly condemned the killing of innocent Kashmiri youth and urged the United Nations to ensure its due role in resolving the issue.

In Indian Occupied Kashmir, at least 20 youth were martyred while about 200 further suffered injuries as a result of brutal and indiscriminate use of force by the Indian forces in Shopian and Anantnag districts.

In a statement, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed deep shock and grief at the indiscriminate and vicious killing of Kashmiri youth in Occupied Kashmir by Indian forces.

The prime minister said the brutal crackdown including the despicable use of pellet guns on civilians – who were protesting against the killings – was deplorable.

Khaqan Abbasi emphasized that Indian attempts to label the legitimate Kashmir struggle as terrorism could not deter the valiant people of Jammu and Kashmir from their demand of exercising their right to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions.

Abbasi called on the International Community to urge India to allow access to fact-finding missions to Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

While strongly condemning Indian barbarism in Occupied Kashmir, the Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal also said Kashmiris’ voice could not be silenced with guns. He said the International Community must condemn and prove that human life and blood had same sanctity.

Meanwhile in a twitter message, the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan also strongly condemned the brutality of Indian forces against innocent Kashmiris and the killing of unarmed civilians in Occupied Kashmir.

Imran Khan said the people of Pakistan stood with the Kashmiris democratic struggle for self-determination. He said the UN Security Council must act against Indian aggression in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) government has announced to observe ‘Condemnation Day’ today (Monday) against killings of innocent Kashmiris by the Indian troops in the Occupied Kashmir.

The AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan appealed Kashmiris living in the Country and abroad to observe ‘Condemnation Day’ and express solidarity with the victims of Indian brutalities.
