Government of PakistanKhaqan assures smooth gas supply to industries, domestic consumers in winter

LAHORE Pakistan: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday vowed to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to industries during winter season so that they could produce maximum as per their capacity.

He was briefly talking to the media after inaugurating Pakistan State Oil’s (PSO) new range of premium quality fuel products at PSO Defence Service Station Cavalry Ground in Lahore.

The Federal Minister said the government was trying to ensure smooth gas supply to domestic consumers.

“We have ample storages of gas and have a comprehensive strategy to meet the high demand of gas during winter,” he added.

Khaqan said due to the policies being pursued by the government, surplus gas would be available in the country in the year 2018.

Earlier, addressing the gathering, the Federal Minister lauded Pakistan State Oil for its continuous support in helping the government as well as the Petroleum Ministry achieve their goals of better quality fuels in Pakistan.

“This is a momentous initiative as it renders numerous benefits not only the consumer, but also for the country’s economy at large,” he mentioned.

Khaqan said new petrol would enhance engine performance and speed. New petrol, he said, would be available in different colours to avoid adulteration factor.

It must be noted that the inaugurated new fuels namely Aldrin Premium and Aldrin X High Performance were already put on sale earlier this month (November) at Pakistan State Oil petrol stations nationwide including Lahore.

Pakistan State Oil being the country’s flagship oil marketing company, has played a key role in materializing the vision of the Government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources (MNPR) by introducing higher grade RON (Research Octane Number) fuels in the country for the very first time.

In his address of welcome Managing Director Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Sheikh Imran Ul Haq said, the company continued to be industry leader, setting new trends for market players to follow. He said, “The launch of our new product line is yet another testament to Pakistan State Oil’s commitment to effectively meeting the changing needs of our consumers and delivering them the best quality products.

Later, a sizeable number of customers flocked the petrol station to fuel their vehicles with the new and improved product range. The customers also praised Pakistan State Oil’s efforts to improve fuel quality in Pakistan and shared how they had already started experiencing benefits of the new fuel products.
