ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will remain the prime minister of Pakistan for next 10 months, ending the speculations about whether Murree-based lawmaker would be replaced or he would continue to uphold the Office till tenure ends.
In his statement while departing for Lahore from Islamabad via GT road on Wednesday, the ousted prime minister said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and ministers should cooperate with Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as he is a sincere worker.
The former prime minister said that the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has made the Province a role model, adding that Shahbaz Sharif still has to do a lot.
Nawaz Sharif said that Shahbaz Sharif will remain the Chief Minister of Punjab. He said that Shahbaz Sharif is the soul of Punjab and pride of the whole Pakistan.
“May Almighty Allah enable us to serve the nation and work for the development of the Country,” Nawaz Sharif prayed.
Moreover, the former prime minister also expressed gratitude to the public for extending unequivocal support to him and PML-N.
Sources said that PML-N won’t field Shahbaz Sharif as contestant in Lahore’s NA-120 while Kulsoom Nawaz will most likely to contest the upcoming by-elections from the ruling party against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr Yasmeen Rashid.
