ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin called on the Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety & Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Shazia Marri at BISP Headquarters in Islamabad on Tuesday.
In the meeting both sides discussed the bilateral issues and agreed to work together for exchange of experiences in the fields of education, culture, and particularly in the field of social protection.
While highlighting the similarities of common cultural and religious heritage of Pakistan and Kazakhstan, Shazia Marri said that connectivity between the brotherly countries is vital to enhance mutual cooperation.
The minister also emphasized on strengthening bilateral relationship at governmental level as well as the people-to-people contacts.

Shazia Marri, on this occasion, presented brochure on Benazir Income Support Programme and traditional gift of Sindhi Ajrak to the visiting diplomat.
The Kazakh ambassador appreciated the warm welcome extended by the federal minister and said that the Benazir Income Support Programme is one of the best social safety programmes of the developing world.
Yerzhan Kistafin said that such programmes of direct cash transfer to the most vulnerable segments of the society need to be replicated in other countries as well.
