Government of PakistanIT & Telecom Ministry delegation meets GSMA Leadership in Barcelona

BARCELONA, Spain: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) delegation led by the Minister for IT & Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque met with the GSMA Asia Pacific leadership headed by Julian Gorman in Barcelona.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 Conference being held at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona from February 27 to March 02, 2023.

IT & Telecom Ministry delegation meets GSMA Leadership in BarcelonaThe agenda of the meeting was to align on policy priorities for 2023 and future collaborations between both the parties.

Syed Amin Ul Haque informed GSMA about the ongoing broadband projects in the un-served and under-served areas of Pakistan including Infrastructure and Spectrum sharing framework which will be beneficial to the Telcos in reducing their operational costs.

The GSMA appreciated the efforts by the MoITT to support the Telecom industry and offered to provide further support for enabling Digital and Financial Inclusion for all.

The meeting was attended by the Member International Coordination Ajmal Awan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Universal Service Fund (USF) Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, the Director General Telecom Wireless at the MoITT Jahanzeb Rahim, the Head of Public Policy Jeanette Whyte, and the Country Head GSMA Pakistan Saira Faisal.
