QUETTA, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Quetta on Friday, and performed the earth breaking of joint venture of Pakistan army and the Balochistan government mega projects including state of the art Cardiac Centre.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal accompanied the prime minister during the ground breaking ceremony.

Pakistan army in collaboration with the government of Balochistan has planned construction of a state of art Balochistan Health Complex at Quetta as part of Khushal Balochistan Programme for providing best medical facility for local population under UAE-Pakistan Assistance Programme (UPAP) projects sponsored by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The cardiac hospital will house latest medical facilities including state of the art operation theatres, Echo and nuclear Cardio facilities.

To make the facility environment friendly, Bio Medical Workshop and Waste Management Plant will also be constructed.

“I am grateful to the Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa for arranging the funds to establish the cardiac centre in Balochistan,” the prime minister said, adding that we intend to work with the provincial government and the army to create a cancer hospital in Balochistan.

Besides, the prime minister also performed the earth breaking of the Quetta-Zhob Dual Carriageway as part of western alignment of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Quetta.

“The Western Route of CPEC will open Balochistan to a new era of progress, prosperity and connectivity,” Imran Khan said.
