SIALKOT, Pakistan: Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif Saturday said the government was strengthening national economy and boosting the industrial structure besides striving to overcome energy crisis.

He said this while addressing participants of an inaugural ceremony of the newly established domestic terminal building at the Sialkot International Airport.

The minister said the government was making all out sincere efforts for resolving problems of the business community.

Economic stability was a priority of the government through resolving the power crisis, he added.

He said the government would continue its development agenda by taking the business community into confidence, adding that economical indicators were getting better day by day.

Khawaja Asif said effective and positive economic policies of the government were helping in restoring confidence of the national and foreign investors, adding that these policies were now bearing fruits.

He said economy was moving in a right direction and the country needed the development of human resources for continuous economic growth.

The minister said effective policies of the government were giving the economical boost to the country.

The minister said the Sialkot exporters had been playing an effective role in strengthening exports and boosting economy.

He said the PML-N government would be successful in the court of the masses during 2018 general elections.

The minister said arrangements were being finalized for construction of a women university and medical college here which would be built on 100 acres of land on Aminabad Road.

Chairman Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) Malik Muhammad Ashraf, MPAs Chaudhry Muhammad Ikram, Tariq Akhtar Subhani, Chaudhry Arshad Javaid Warraich, Rana Liaqat Ali, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Major (retd) Mansur Ahmed, Chairman Sialkot Dry Port Trust Khawar Anwar Khawaja, Chairman Air Sial Airline Fazal Jillani and others were also present.
