ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Security Adviser Lt. General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua on Tuesday stressed the need to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Poland in multiple areas to strengthen bilateral relations.
Talking to the ambassador of Poland to Pakistan Piotr A Opalinski in Islamabad the adviser said Poland was an important Country and Pakistan highly valued her relations with it.
During the meeting, the two dignitaries discussed matters pertaining to promotion of bilateral relations particularly in the areas of economy, energy, military cooperation and defence production.
They agreed to work together at all levels to promote cordial and cooperation bilateral relations.
The national security adviser thanked the ambassador for helping Pakistan in initial years.
Referring to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Nasser Janjua said the CPEC was a project of massive economic connectivity with an aim to boost the progression and prosperity not only of Pakistan but for the whole region which would ultimately be helpful in promoting peace and stability in the region.
The Polish ambassador traced a long history of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and his country, and said there was a vast scope for expansion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Poland.
The envoy mentioned that Polish Pilots and Polish Airman helped in building Pakistan Air Force in its formative years. He also highlighted that Polish companies were actively engaged in oil and gas exploration in Pakistan; hence were working to promote energy sector in the Country.
Piotr A Opalinski also said Poland believed that there were vast possibilities of progress for Pakistan in the CPEC framework, and also expressed his government’s desire to join this endeavor subsequently.
