KARACHI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the federal government will fully contribute for the development in Karachi and solution of problems being faced by the people of City.

Talking to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members of the Sindh assembly in Karachi on Monday, the prime minister said that resolution of Karachi’s problems is the responsibility of the Sindh government but the federal government is too contributing from its own resources to resolve these issues in view of public welfare.

The prime minister said that the federal government is fully aware of water, transport, waste management and other issues being faced by the residents of Karachi. He said that Karachi is economic hub of Pakistan but it is unfortunate that the people and issues of the metropolitan were ignored in the past.

Imran Khan said that the local government system in Karachi will help resolve the problems at grass roots level.

The prime minister also directed the federal ministers to intensify their interactions with lawmakers hailing from Karachi.

The Federal Minister of Planning, Development and Reforms Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar briefed members of the Sindh assembly about the development projects being completed and to be accomplished by the federal government.

The lawmakers also apprised the prime minister about various problems of their respective constituencies.
