KARACHI, Pakistan: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that the incumbent government led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) pursued prudent policies which have put the Country on the path of economic and political stability.
Talking to media representatives in Karachi on Saturday, the minister said that the current account deficit has been brought down to US$ 8 billion from US$ 19 billion three years back.
Whereas, the information minister said foreign exchange reserves increased to US$ 27 billion from US$ 14. 4 billion and remittances to US$ 29.4 billion from US$ 19.9 billion three years back.
Fawad Chaudhry said that an 18 percent increase has been recorded in industrial growth and 45 percent in cement production.
The information minister said that Rs 1,100 billion were provided for the promotion of the agriculture sector.
