ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan H.E Atadjan Movlamov met the Federal Minister for Energy Muhammad Hammad Azhar at the Ministry of Energy in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Power and Petroleum Tabish Guhar was also present during the meeting.

Talking to Turkmenistan’s ambassador, Hammad Azhar reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire to further cement the existing bilateral relations between the two brotherly Countries.

Energy Minister urges for early completion of TAPI project

The minister said that the natural resources including natural gas from the Central Asian State need to be explored for the mutual benefit of both the Countries.

The energy minister also expressed satisfaction over the progress on Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.

Hammad Azhar underscored the need to work out all details of gas transportation and supply agreements to the mutual benefit of all the Countries.

However, he expressed a strong desire and full commitment for the early completion and materialization of the project.

In his remarks, the ambassador of Turkmenistan apprised the energy minister and the special assistant on salient features of the project and progress made by the Turkmenistan side.

H.E Atadjan Movlamov informed that the Herat Office strategy was being discussed with TAPI member States by TPCL (TAPI Pipeline Company Limited) and assured that all matters related to the project including financing and security of the pipeline are being diligently worked out to ensure smooth and timely completion of the project.
