Government of PakistanDr Firdous lambasts opposition leaders, calls them political hypocrite

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday lambasted the opposition leadership, saying that it is the worst example of political hypocrisy.

In a series of tweets, the Special Assistant said that if the opposition supports the democracy at one time but simultaneously it also opposes it. She said that the opposition leaders themselves enjoy the full term in power as enshrined in the Constitution; however if the public elects Imran Khan to power, they can’t digest it.

In reference to the fiery speech, the Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made while addressing a public gathering at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi on Thursday to commemorate Benazir Bhutto’s 12th death anniversary, Dr Firdous reminded Bilawal that the people of Pakistan have decimated the decades-old rule of two families, and established a real public real under Imran Khan’s leadership.

Firdous Ashiq Awan further said that 2020 would be the year of people’s prosperity and national development.

Dr Firdous said that it’s ridiculous and contrary to the philosophy of Benazir Bhutto that PPP which suffered a humiliating defeat in its stronghold Larkana is talking of elections in next year. She said that the recent debacle in Larkana was a people’s revolt against corruption.
