ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Deputy Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Hussain Asghar will head the High-Powered Commission to probe the wealth stolen from Pakistan.

In a late night address to the nation on June 11, Prime Minister Imran Khan had vowed to nab the thieves who plunged the Country in debt badly.

The prime minister also announced the formation of a High-Powered Commission consisting of representatives of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB) Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to probe the startling debt of Rs 24,000 billion obtained by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) governments in last 10 years.

Imran Khan also reiterated that he would not give National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to corrupt and plunderers as in the past two NROs had already caused huge damage to the Country under which they were still reeling.

Meanwhile earlier in the day, the prime minister also approved the establishment of 13-member National Development Council (NDC).
