ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Defence Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan on Wednesday said the federal government was taking all necessary measures to strengthen and enhance the capability of its armed forces.
In a meeting with the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah who paid a farewell call on him in Islamabad, the minister said the government was determined to enhance armed forces’ capability, so as to effectively cope with prevailing challenges and ensure fool proof defence of the national frontiers extended upto Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and the continental shell in the Arabian Sea.
The minister lauded the services rendered by the outgoing Chief of Naval Staff for defence of the motherland during his long meritorious career including the eventful tenure in command of Pakistan Navy.
Dastgir also appreciated the contributions made by Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah for strengthening and modernizing the defence and combat capabilities of the Naval Forces of Pakistan.
Separately, the Chief of Naval Staff also had a farewell call with the Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain who lauded Admiral Zakaullah’s contribution in the national defence and his services rendered for the nation
Rana Tanveer said during the tenure of Admiral Zakaullah, Pakistan Navy greatly progressed. The minister wished him good luck and prayed for his health and happiness.
