QUETTA, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Husain on Tuesday said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would change the destiny of Balochistan which was termed a diamond by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Al Jinnah.

In his address at a ceremony held in Quetta on Tuesday in connection with Quaid Day, he said that the people and particularly the Baloch youth played a pivotal role in the freedom struggle of Pakistan.

The president said that even a single inch had not been molded in the CPEC’s route, adding that the project would protect the interests of people in every part of the country including Balochistan.

Mamnoon Hussain said that the performance of students of Balochistan particularly female students was highly appreciable in different competitive exams in the country. He urged the students to follow in the footsteps of the Great Quaid.

Earlier in the morning, President Mamnoon Hussain reached Quetta on a day-long visit where at the airport, he was received by Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai and Provincial Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti.

The Balochistan’s Information Minister Sardar Raza Baraich, Education Minister Abdur Raheem Ziartawal, Agriculture Minister Sardar Aslam Bizenjo and Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) of Quetta Abdur Razaq Cheema were also present.

The president would also meet members of Balochistan Assembly later in the day.
