ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday continuity of democratic system was essential for development and progress of the Country.

Talking to delegations of students belonging to Sindh Madressatul Islam, Government Schools Lower Topa, Lawrence College, Silkhatar and Islamabad Model School for Girls at PM’s Office in Islamabad, the prime minister said in the democratic societies, governments were being elected by the people through use of ballots and stressed that the use of votes should be made in line with the national interests after a thorough consideration. He observed that the future of a nation and the Country hinged on the public decision taken during elections.

The prime minister said provision of basic facilities like education and health besides, creation of employment opportunities were priorities of his government. He said education was considered as key sector in a society and throughout the world, focus was being made on raising standard of education by promoting youths’ capabilities and their best utilization.

The prime minister also stressed upon uniform educational system in the Country for promotion of educational standards. He said after 18th Constitutional amendment, the subject of education was devolved to provinces, however, the federal government was providing all out support to the education sector. Talking about significance and role of education, he observed that its promotion always resulted in formation of better societies.

Khaqan Abbasi advised the students to work hard by equipping themselves with the best education for the national development and prosperity as the talented youth were the future of Pakistan and a hope for achievement of national prosperity.

The premier informed the students about the steps taken by his government for the prosperity of the countrymen through a string of development projects and for raising the living standards of the people, expressing the hope that those would be harbinger of positive change in the life common man.

To a question, the prime minister said under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) complete attention was being paid to the energy, road infrastructure and industrial sector whereas under CPEC projects, special measures had been taken for environmental protection.

The interaction was part of the PM’s Youth Contact Programme under which students from different educational institutes were being invited to the PM’s Office and given a briefing about the functioning of country’s top administrative office.
