ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday presided over the meeting of the Parliamentary Party of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad and took the members on board about the appointment process of the new Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Later talking to the media, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that the consultation process regarding the appointment of the DG ISI has been completed and the final decision in this respect will soon be announced.
The information minister said that the prime minister briefed the Parliamentary Party that the civilian and the military leadership is on the same page and enjoys an ideal relationship in the history of Pakistan.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that the credit of ideal civil-military relations also goes to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa who has always supported the democratic government.
