ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Khan has said that the first ever National Wildlife Policy draft will be submitted to the Federal Cabinet for approval within this month.

While chairing a meeting of Wildlife and forest departments at Ministry of Climate Change in Islamabad on Wednesday, Amin Aslam said that a comprehensive wildlife policy is the dire need of the time to provide adequate protection to the Wildlife habitats.

The adviser stressed upon the wildlife department for early completion of “National Consultation” on the policy document, so that it could be submitted to the Cabinet at the earliest.

Malik Amin Aslam Khan further said that the present government has decided to adopt a zero tolerance policy towards illegal trade and hunting of the wild life and directed its authorities to take all out efforts to preserve our precious wildlife.

Amin Aslam said that with advent of winter season, birds migration starts in coastal areas and it’s our responsibility to provide an adequate protection to these birds which include Cranes, Falcons, Quails and other species of the migrated birds.

The adviser said that first ever National Wildlife policy will be amongst those milestones which Prime Minister Imran Khan had committed to achieve within first hundred days of the government.

The Federal Secretary Climate Change Khizar Hayat Khan and senior officials from Wildlife and forest department were also present in the meeting.
