ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 43-member new Federal Cabinet of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi includes five new ministers from South Punjab and a Hindu minister appointed in 25 years.
Hafiz Abdul Karim, Syed Javed Ali Shah, Abdul Rehman Kanju, Sardar Awais Leghari and Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari are the new inclusion to the Federal Cabinet, raising the number of ministers in new cabinet to eight hailing from South Punjab.
Earlier, three ministers from the same belt were part of the previous Federal Cabinet.
Dr. Darshan Punshi has been sworn-in as the Minister of State and is the first minister belonging to Hindu faith, appointed in 25 years. He is also the new addition from Sindh.
Likewise, Ghalib Khan is another minister from Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) who has been included in the new Federal Cabinet. He is the second minister from FATA appointed in five years.
The new Federal Cabinet having 43 ministers including 27 Federal Ministers and 16 State Ministers took oath of their Offices at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad today. President Mamnoon administered oath to them.
